Birmingham wedding photography by Jennifer Peel
With Christmas well and truly over I’m looking forward to a New Year of lots of exciting weddings to come. With a bit of a break before the start of the wedding season I’m using the time to catch up on blogging last summer’s weddings, and this one I’ve been dying to share! On meeting Lisa and Simon in the local pub, we instantly clicked and I was really excited about their plans for the big day so was really chuffed that they booked me to capture it. Lisa got ready at home with her bridesmaids who she’d chosen Two Birds dresses for – I’ve come across these at several weddings and they are great as they come in lots of colours and can be worn in so many different ways that there’s a style for everyone. Lisa’s gorgeous bouquet was created by the ladies at In Bloom – a florist I’d wholeheartedly recommend to any Birmingham brides. They were married at Edgbaston Old Church and we sneaked them down to Cannon Hill park after the ceremony for a few portraits before they joined their guests at their reception at the Priory School. Here’s just a few things I loved about this wedding – the his and hers pinatas made by the bride’s mother, the light up letters made by one of their neighbours (get in touch if you’d like his details!), the wood fired pizzas for evening guests (The Wild Oven), the cocktails and home brew and I cannot forget the dancing! Can you spot the photo where Beyonce – Single Ladies was playing?! Lisa and Simon were a great couple to work with and felt more like friends that clients and I really hope that our paths cross again in the future. Congratulations Mr and Mrs Whitehead!
